| no partners | | My first time on this one. It's in the book I'm using to make myself do more hikes down south and such. I also don't want Heather to not get me any more books so I better use it. I had to call in to work to bid vacations at 7:15 so I waited in the parking lot, called, then took off about 7:30. I saw a few runners on the road but that was it the rest of the way in. It was a little cool but shorts and a jacket worked fine. Nice vegetation all around on this one. There seems to be more trail then before but the track I used seems to follow the road to the end before jumping up on the trail. I got up on the trail a little sooner but it stays pretty close to the road until the road ends. The creek was running but with a hiking pole I was able to navigate all the crossings. I was afraid the falls wouldn't be running but the had a good flow,I think. They were pretty cool. I explored a little, took some(bad) pics, and headed on back. I started seeing people around my six mile mark. From reading about this area it sounds like I was lucky to be alone so long . Nice hike and I enjoyed it. Maybe I'll do the loop next time. I saw more and more people and was surprised how full the parking lot was . I still had a good time. From there it was on to Pat's Drive in to try there food. The book says they have good burgers and chili dogs. I concur . My stats are a little different but I did explore a little. |
