| partners | | | On the Big Island for a week - work conference for my husband and vacation for me. We parked along the ever changing end of Chain of Craters road and walked and walked until we got near new oozing activity and then along the shore. We had explored other areas of the park on a different day and came back for this hike after sunset. It's easier to spot the lava in the dark and it's absolutely mesmerizing to watch it ooze around you. I could have watched for hours. The lava dripping into the ocean and splattered by waves is the stuff of science fiction, especially at night. |
