The plan was to hike Mt. Hoffman. Took a couple friends, and was going to have them hang out at May Lake while I hit the summit. The road was closed, so we had to hike 2 more miles in on the road to get to the TH to May Lake. Lots of snow on the trail, but once at the lake, it was mostly still frozen over and couldn't find the trail to the summit. Didn't have spikes or shoes or anything, so got shafted on the summit, but MAN was May Lake stunningly BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! We hung out there for a couple hours and just enjoyed the view and lunch. Saw about 4 other people the whole day - LOVE these off-beat hikes!
