Nothing seems to have changed. I guess all of those Humphrey hikes don't do much for a hike like this, as even though I am in the heat in town, I am not in it most of the day. My tolerance for the cold of the creek has waned, and I found myself a little bored solo, in the heat, in a side canyon, at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. So I left the bottom early to be out for Prime Rib, only to learn it isn't on the menu at Bright Angel Lodge, anymore. Great hike, always a tough one, far tougher than a similar stat hike in Tucson, for some reason. Must be the reverse nature. The last mile I was out of gas and it was a struggle getting out. Only my love of beef got me up and out, other wise I may have dialed 911. |
