| no partners | | The plan was to hike a loop in the Pinals, but ADOT has US 60 closed between Superior and Globe, with SR 177 routed well to the south and over more than 60 miles and probably 90 minutes each way, as the detour. I just didn't have the time for that today. So, I was about to sulk over to the Flatiron and hike that fairly dull hike before Scott suggested this. Matt gave me the AEG, and I realized it was a pretty nice hike. I liked the summit, and took a lot of nice redundant pictures. All but 1 were deleted or are now gone from my camera memory card. It is 9 years old.
I felt like this was almost flatiron JR, but more interesting and scenic. I wouldn't have hiked this were it not for the road closure, so that was sort of a blessing in disguise. I don't know what ever happened, but there was a nice large cloud forming south of the Pinal Mountains, so maybe there was a storm there. |
