First time up Camelback Mountain. We started late (started at noon) and the parking for Echo Canyon was very much full. Ended up parking on the street for Cholla, I think about half a mile or more of this hike is from the car to the trailhead.
I remember this trail was really intimidating the first time I attempted it. Trail was well maintained and very clear markings, but then I did not make it to the top for this attempt. I think I made it about 1/4 the way up, did not even make it to the saddle. I recall thinking that the trail was exposed :scared: and kept thinking I was going to slip and fall. Very busy trail traffic, people all around.
