Jared arrived in Arizona on his first day of leave. He was still feeling restless from the plane ride when I got home from clinic, so we decided on a quick trip to Camelback! The weather was nice, so we planned on doing a faux-double by hiking down the Echo side too.

We greeted Santa at the top, who gave us candy canes and said he wished someone would bring him a beer. It was approaching dusk, so I decided I'd rather skip the Echo side and just hike back down to our car, but Jared said that we should go at least partway down the closed side. Without giving it a second thought, I start racing my way down, when Jared called for me to stop. He pulled out some snacks and suggested we sit and enjoy the view. So we sat and chatted, and minutes later he pulled out a sparkly diamond ring, too. :)

...Which I promptly scratched to oblivion on the hike back down. This is why I can't have nice things ;)
