| no partners | | On this trip my wife Debbie accompanied me. We spent 3 days in Payson doing short hikes along Arizona Trail #26 and #27. This is around trip hike with almost all elevation gain going from South to North along the trail. As with most of the Skyline trail water was not an issue, there are plenty of streams that are running (for these short hikes though, the water you need you can carry, no mater what time of year you go). The train route that was planned to go up this canyon is quite an interesting story and is well documented on the internet. Also the Battle of Big Dry Wash is on the internet. |
