| no partners | | I was intending on knocking off this combo yesterday after school but the day sapped me. By the end of the day, I was ready for bed. Going on 2 weeks of being sick now and my immune system can feel free to step up at any time.
In the morning I decided that I'd try to get out of there ASAP, and then my wife crushed my dreams by informing me that I had to tutor until 3:30 today. Ok then. I am on my way to the trailhead by about 3:45. I arrive and get ready to go, firing up my GPS, and it can't find the trail anywhere. I quickly realize that I am at the wrong trailhead; the one I was at previously for the Usery Rd to Meridian hike I did a few weeks ago.
Upon finding the right trailhead I decide to head up to Peak 2972 first. I busted up the drainage until I accidentally bumped into the trail. The trail was surprisingly sleep and slippery near the end. Something about 1000's of bearing sized pebbles on bare rock. The views on top of the peak though are incredible! It would make a nice place for a night hike to catch the valley lights below.
Upon crossing Usery Pass Rd I started on the journey up to EJ. I am not sure if it was because of being tired and sick but the journey feels a lot longer than a mile up. The views were pretty good of Four Peaks, Superstition, and Weavers from up top. |
