| partners | | Day 2 of our car camping trip:
Since we had to abort the first of two planned hikes to Salt River and the fact we were camped 'in-the-shadow' of Redmond Mountain we decided we might as well 'take-a-lap' around the mesa on Redmond Mountain, which I had not taken the time to do last year due to threatening thunderstorms.
While we had plenty of awesome scenery during the course of the hike, the hike itself was uneventful. Unless of course you believe Tracey was able to keep a large boulder falling on her. (See photoset)
After returning to camp we decided hike back out to the mountain lion kill to see if it had returned for a second feeding... it had. We spent a bit more time following tracks and drag marks the other way, which is how we found out the kill was 20 feet to our right when we first passed it, then within 70 minutes it was dragged to the other side and hidden somewhat. I was kicking myself for not taking the time to follow the tracks when we first passed by.
Oh well... just another trip with memories for a lifetime.  |
