| no partners | | Hiked up to the tower from the gate in the road. Sign on the gate said visitors welcome. At the tower, a sign says no visitors! 
So I set out to find the benchmark. Found the two RMs, but no BM. Lined them both up and started digging with some rocks under the tower. The lookout yelled down to me, curious what I was doing. I told him, and he had no information on the BM. He invited me up and radioed another long-time lookout for me but no result on the missing BM.
When I got home, I looked it up. I should have dug deeper!
