| partners | | We set out to spend some leisurely time enjoying one of the many mountain streams near our camp. This one looked good and almost managed to close the gap in @oregon_hiker 's previous area exploration.
Most of the trip was easy walking in grassy meadows with occasional deadfall, but there were a couple of short stretches of mandatory boulder hopping. We all opted to cross the creek wet when it was the best route, but I'm sure those with aquaphobia would be able to stay dry with a little creativity.
Clabber City has gone the way of the dodo, with only some remnants of lumber and some range fencing. It would have been quite the place to homestead though. Truly a beautiful little valley. We all enjoyed a beverage as thunder rumbled just to our south, and tried unsuccessfully to put a dent in the surprisingly robust invasive crustacean population. |
