| partners | | such as it was, Wendy was not going to have a day go by without some hiking so we gave this a shot. The KOA map is not very good so it took us a second shot to find a starting place. It takes you through a bit of a forest behind the cabins and alongside the St Mary River/Lake. It is mowed in places, road in places, a path in places. We found the kayak area which looks like it's in a quieter portion of the lake. We had thot we might do some kayaking in the afternoon but the wind really came up per usual so we just hung out at the cabin for most of the day. The KOA loop takes you to the north side of the KOA where there is a long fence line and by what looks like a couple private houses. Eventually we ended up at the store and wandered around there before heading back to the cabin.
Wendy got caught up on emails and did some laundry. Don't think I did much of anything except catch up some on Facebook and such. We decided to take the back road to dinner after I analyzed the route/map online. It looked like it was doable. It's a dirt road and does take you by some private residences until you finally come to the bridge that crosses the very violent looking Swiftcurrent Creek. When you are driving on the east part of Many Glacier Road you can see this fast running white water creek. We had our t-bone steak dinner at the Cattle Baron Supper Club. They were full upstairs but let us sit at a table downstairs near the bar area where they served us. This time we finished off the steak and as usual, it was SO GOOD!!! and you can't beat the price.

And then it was back to our KOA cabin to pack up somewhat as we would be hiking tomorrow before our drive to Kalispell. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
