It was raining overnight and still drizzling at 6 a.m., which was our appointed departure time. Most pulled the plug on the hike, but myself and a few die-hards carried on. That was the right choice. Although the trail was a little saturated, it wasn't too bad, and the drizzle was just that--drizzle, and by the time we got to the falls, even the drizzle had dissipated.
The falls were nice, as usual, though I suppose I expected them to be a bit more spectacular with the recent rain fall. The only other downside to the rain was that I didn't get to enjoy watching the sunrise from the falls. Fall colors on the way back (in the light), were a bit past prime, but still enjoyable. |
