| no partners | | This was the first day of a houseboat trip on Lake Powell. I was the cruise director and had a crew of 10 other people for the trip. This was something I have wanted to do for a very long time.
The boat ride was long and scenic but the hike to Rainbow Bridge was quick, probably less than a mile. I had hoped to time our group's arrival there just pefectly for the sweet light......and I did but we stopped to help a man and his three kids that had backpacked to the bridge and were in WAY over their heads. They were looking for an easier way out. I understand it's a pretty rough trail to the bridge especially for young kids carrying backpacks.
I did swim but the water was a tinch chilly in March. I think we did the trip for about 300 bucks a person. (that included food and fuel) Makes me wonder why I waited to long to explore this beautiful lake. Looking forward to getting back out there again. |
