| no partners | | Fun little cold day roaming around flats and skirting the rim edge.
Ran into a solid herd of cow elk with a few young spikes and raghorn bulls in the mix, somewhere around two dozen of them in total who I kept accidentally running into throughout my walk.
Pit houses, percussion flakes, pottery and petroglyphs show clear signs of the ancients as expected and my buddy spotted something special from afar with his binoculars that will be a whole other trip of its own.
Dodged the snow all day until about 5:30pm and that’s when a chilly wind and snowfall blew in leaving a modest frosting of flakes on the ground and it was time to get back to the truck. |
