Walked Gold Beach again from the Kissing Rock parking area, which is directly across the street from my parents’ house—that morning was very windy, difficult to stay upright, but the tide was low so we walked the tidal flats. Visited Myers Beach for the longest, and best, walk. Again, it was low tide, so we explored around the rocks and tidal pools for various sealife. Very pretty area, with a lot of neat stuff to see. Also swam in and walked along Hunter Creek a few miles inland. The outlet for that creek is at Kissing Rock, but we drove up a few miles to some swimming holes. The kids found plenty of salamanders, along with trout, frogs, snails, and who knows what else. |
