| partners | | Started a little after 0730 to nice cool temps. Headed east from the See Canyon trailhead, crossed Christopher Creek, then picked up Highline on the other side of the creek. East on Highline, which is fairly easy hiking, gradual ups and downs, reaching Drew at the 2.50 mile mark. Turned left and headed up Drew. Despite the elevation gain on Drew, I always find it to be pleasant, with a steady incline. At the top, we headed west on FR9350. Passed one abandoned campsite with a still smoldering fire. After mostly taking care of that, we continued west, eventually turning onto Gen Crook trail. At FR208, we took that north for two miles, then down to Bear Canyon Lake, where we had lunch. Back south on 208, then west to the top of See Canyon. Steep descent down See, with many downed trees to get around/over/under—hopefully those will be cleared soon. The last mile or two on See gradually leveled out and made for a pleasant finish to the loop. Nice temps all day, a little warm at times, but the breeze helped. |
