| partners | | | Great hike that Chumley drew up and IMO the best hike of the long weekend. We hiked up Smith Creek but soon ascended to the rim about 500 feet. Most of the remaining hike was on the rim and we were rewarded with fantastic views all the way. The lunch spot was an excellent viewpoint with 270 degree views as Chumley mentioned and strong 4G!! Eventually we dropped off the rim near Jim Smith Peak as an afternoon thunderstorm started to crank up. We had managed to avoid storms all day even though they were all around us. But now it was time for some rain and we got pretty soaked the last 20 minutes or so. Either way great hike to check out the Jim Smith Rim! |
