| partners | | | Wrapping up the long weekend 9L and I explored lower Trout Creek. Started from FR 220 and headed downstream. Lower Trout was more scenic than the upper section we did the day earlier and less noticeable cow impact. There are some nice cliff bands and the trail does an up and over about half way down canyon to avoid them. Eventually the canyon opens up as it drains into Luna Valley so we decided to turn back. On the return instead of following the trail on the up and over we stayed in the creek. It was a fun choice with good pools in the canyon and not too rough off trail. Eventually picked up the trail again and followed back to the FR 220. |
