| no partners | | | Day three did not start out as planned. We planned on hitting some hot springs early through an alternate route. With just a description we should of scouted the day before and by the time we actually found the start decided to skip it to go paddle boarding. After the lake we went by the actual trailhead we were glad we skipped it. Later in the day we hit Black Mesa Winery and Vivac. Black Mesa was great, Vivac So so with nothing to write home about although the had a pretty good band called kombucha marimba. We then drove through Taos, visited a buddy that flies EMS there and drove past the space homes and found a camp site in Tres Piedras. Planned on hitting Mt. Princeton Hotsprings. We got there ate lunch and decided it wasn’t worth it since the creek side pools were closed due to high creek levels which is unusual this time of year. All in all great trip. We missed the kids, but it was nice to get some time alone. Besides the kids spent the week in White Sand, Meow Wolf, and Carlsbad Caverns. |
