| no partners | | Heading out on my first road trip of 2021! Finally stopped at the old Plank Road historic site in the sand dunes area west of Yuma. From there it was on to Ocotillo, California, where I had hoped to visit the Imperial Valley Desert Museum. Unfortunately it was closed, so that will wait for a future trip. I made my usual stop at the Lazy Lizard for a cold one, before continuing on along County Road S2, a very scenic route into the southern portion of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This is my favorite way to get to Borrego Springs (where I would spend two nights). It is not the quickest way, but it passes through some wonderful country, and sees less traffic than other approaches.
I am including some videos about the areas I visited. I really like the videos this fellow produces. Lots of history on out of the way and quirky places. Very well done.
