The heat of June was beginning and everything was really parched due to the drought conditions. But, there always is some flow in the creek in places, even in the toughest times. Driving in though there were long stretches with no flow, attesting to this situation. The highlight of the peaceful time was some quiet campers, turkeys wandering about, and a Junco that was going bonkers seeing itself in the vehicle mirrors! That beautiful OCD behavior spanned both days, and entertained me greatly. On the drive out, I had to stop at the John Ringo gravesite for the zillionth time to check out the changes to the setting. It has lost some of its idyllic charm and the chain link overkill is a bit much. Oh well. |
