| no partners | | I found a photo of a beautiful pictograph in Sedona. The search was on. I found everything I could and was able to narrow down the area where the pictograph was located. I arrived in the hiking area early Friday morning. My hiking buddy and I looked around. He said what is that white thing up there( in the distance, thanks for a bright morning sun). I laughed and said, that is the sign that says this is an archaeological area. You found the site. I dont know the name of the new site, new to me.
After hitting the first site, we did the tourist thing at Palatki and Honanki. My hiking buddy had never been to those sites so I said what the heck. I had my reasons for going. At the end of the tour at Palatki, we spoke to the tour guide and asked question to test her knowledge. I asked about the OTHER pictographs in this area. Her eyes told me where to look. I forgot to thank her. We could easily see where one site was located because she said they were photographing the site. We could see some scaffolding in an area along the cliff. Then I took photos with my telephoto lens on the way out. When I got home I looked at the photos and could see the white shield.
At Honanki there is a cave to the east that is suppose to have a snake pictograph. It's a short hike up. Yes there is one long snake pictographs.
Snake Gulch in two week. |
