| no partners | | Did this hike a few months ago when it was cooler.
One site, was near the town of Stanton AZ. Drive to Congress then turn east. It's a small quiet town. This was my second trip to find the Stanton Site. My first trip was unsuccessful. Then one day I did a internet search using some different keyword and review everything to the end of the search. Along the way I found some blog. This lady was saying she lived in Stanton for 15 years and found out she had been driving past a petroglyph site for years. She gave a brief description and also stated that they can be seen from the road. Found them!
The two forts were found doing an aerial view around the Hassayampa. I did have some info that there were some hilltop forts out there. A general description (again) help me narrow down my search. I was able to find the forts on GE.
The last site I visited, I got some coords of a lone petroglyph out in the middle of nowhere on the Hassayampa River. The last picture in the photoset is the lone petroglyph.
That was a rewarding weekend |
