| no partners | | I wanted to get out to Chuparosa after the heavy rains on Christmas Eve. The weather was perfect - overcast, cool and dry. Once I arrived to the canyon, I was greeted by the sounds of running water. It wasn't as much as I expected but still nice to see and hear. The trail from the barbed wire fence to the canyon entrance is easy to find/follow. Once in the canyon, look for the trail as it meanders through the rocks, debris and vegetation. A few cairns help to guide you. Props to those who have bushwhacked through the overgrown brush within the canyon. It really helped! This hike is definitely challenging between the steady incline going in to the loose scree on parts of the trail. Be careful! |
