| no partners | | Went out to a familiar area to try out my new toy, a Garmin Colorado 400t. Coolness!! Has a few quirks to it, but I like it a lot, and it was much better at keeping a signal than the older etrex I had been borrowing from a friend. Actually took it out beyond the saddle to the overlook. Since that GPS route hasn't been posted yet via the Peralta Canyon Trail #102, I'll post it as well. Beyond the saddle, there were a few places going to the overlook where the trail was harder to find and the cairns were put in the wrong places...one led me to the edge of the mesa and off the side (oops! ) Finally was able to photograph my first tarantula too, which was neat!
Did some excursions (and some backtracking going to the overlook), which added to my time. Plan to go back next time to do the Cave Trail. |
