Happy Easter HAZ. We hiked JF trail 106 Easter weekend. As visitors know, JF is a 10 mile one way trans-Supes path. It doesn’t get much foot traffic and is therefore invisible in places. We took a chance and walked miles through snake grass during rattlesnake season. The big surprise was that there were no snakes the entire time either on trail or incursions off trail. The temps were 80s and there were absolutely zero people at either the lot or along the trail. Did see recent footprints, human, dog and many other things

The geography is markedly different than the western Superstitions. The flowering plants are different too, and this log is all about the wildflowers! Some of these are uncommon, and we skipped the usual brittlebushes, etc. In general the cacti have not yet started blooming in this area, but will be flowering soon. All of the plants are identified so hope that helps! There was some water in Tortilla Creek downstream and pools in upper Tortilla.
