| no partners | | Day hike in the German Alps south of our Munich base. Objective for the day was hiking Kampenwand but we had a questionable forecast. No rain but we were not sure if summit would be covered in clouds.
On the lower slopes it was hiking in forest as we headed for tree line. However, we eventually hiked into the clouds on the ascent with the top being obscured. Not much of a view so we didn't stay long on the summit. On the descent we took a different route that had almost no one on the trail and more sporty with some fun downclimbs.
Making it down to the lower slopes there was one more stop to make. A working farm with goats and cows also had beer! So we stopped for a beverage before finishing up the hike. Despite the clouds we made the most of it and still had a good hike. |
