| no partners | | I made it to the end of the road with my Jeep Wrangler no problem. Nothing even made me stop and consider my route before continuing. At the very least you'll need high clearance to make it to the end of the road. I don't think 4x4 would be required, at least not the day I went. At the end of the road there is a nice aspen grove you can camp in.
The trail up is brutal. After you finish following the jeep trail it's just a foot path that goes seemingly straight up the mountain in spots. There is plenty of water to filter until you get to the meadow. I only made it to 11K feet and had to turn around due to continuing thunderstorms. I was super bummed because this one has been on my list for a long time and is very time consuming to get to. 7 hours one way drive for me.
It's a very remote area and very scenic. Even though I didn't make the peak I enjoyed my time there. |
