| partners | | With the warm weather front, it turned out to be great time to come here. Plenty of water running in the creek by the cabin. Stream bed was completely dry where Dogie trail first crosses the creek. We did the return loop via Cassner Mtn. Hiking up Cassner, we did encounter significant snow on the trail in places, with icy patches along steep terrain. Hiking poles highly recommended here. Views on top of Cassner are stunning, but the hike once you get to the top really drags on for the last 5 miles or so. We were thinking a better option might be to shuttle over to the Mooney (?sp) trailhead. |
