| partners | | our second day in joshua tree
coffee and breakfast at camp, then we headed for the northwest corner of the park
@tibber and i hiked warren peak in april, and i really enjoyed it
john and i got started around 0815, heading up black canyon
at the split, we went left to do the panorama loop first
angela thought the hike would have better views this way, and i agree
uphill to a ridgeline and a short off trail to peak 5195
great views heading west along the ridgeline of coachella valley, san jacinto and san gorgonio
gradual downhill to the warren peak trail split
we hit the overlook first, then went up to the peak
john chatted with a hiker from virginia at the summit
we didn't stay long as it was windy and cool
dropped down, closed the loop and returned to the visitor center
found the same mexican restaurant that angela and i had lunch at in yucca valley
lucky for us it was taco tuesday 
we drove over to indian cove and checked out the campground
hiked the little nature trail then took a break to digest our tacos
next up was fortynine palms oasis, which i had hiked with sue two years ago
nice trail, fun short hike with the palm grove as a destination
getting dark as we finished
returned to camp and read in the car for awhile
colder that night and quite a bit windier |
