| partners | | linda put together an up and back on sixshooter, hitting pinal and signal peaks
i hadn't been in the pinals in four years and always enjoy a fall color hike here
we parked up the road, cutting off the tedious lower part of sixshooter
headed up around 0800 in cool temps
this trail provides a good uphill to the telephone junction, then a little bit more to ferndell
fire damage wasn't as bad as anticipated, torched in spots but overall not terrible
unless you were one of two cabin owners up top
we did the road walk to the ladder rock, pinal peak and then signal peak
a decent amount of fall color along the way, and it should be good for another week or so
lunch break at signal peak, then headed down
just two other hikers all day, and a few vehicles up top
linda spotted a kingsnake, otherwise no critters
great hike, enjoyable day with good company
late lunch in miami at guayo's el rey - love that place
