| no partners | | Just an easy leg stretching side trip along State Highway 73 (West Coast Road) in the Arthur's Pass region of NZ's South Island. The primary trail meanders amongst the Tōpuni status limestone boulders, which was an early Māori meeting place. As we left, two people were lugging crashpads up to the southwest boulders (Spittle Hill), as climbing the main rocks (Castle Hill) is prohibited. Subjectively to me, this is as it should be, because not every crag on the planet needs developed as a rock climbing area. |
