| no partners | | There's a stately Teddy-bear Cholla forests at the two-mile mark on the cut off approach (when starting from I8). It seemed impossible to find a way through at first but wasn't as bad as it looked. Also, for some strange reason at the 8.07-mile mark on a random saddle, there was a cairn with a small metal film canister underneath with one guy's name signed in from April 1978. Not sure of its significance, but perhaps that's as far as he could make it...
This guide just might qualify as the toughest route currently listed on HAZ for the South Maricopa Mountain Wilderness, that is until the man, the myth, the legend completes his Shawmut [ South Maricopa Mountains - NW Ridgeline ] !  |
