Hiked the Gateway Loop in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve with my Daughter and her family along with 2 other families. It was a large group but the 13 kids, ages 5 to 18, soon spread out in 4 groups by age. I had to struggle to keep up with even the slowest group. I asked a seven-year-old boy why he kept urging everyone to walk fast and not stop. He said he was in a hurry to get home to the "best chocolate ever" in his Easter candy stash. The energy level of these kids was inspiring even if it was fueled by an excess of Easter candy sugar.

Wildflowers Observation Light
Lots of Brittlebush, isolated small bunches of Lupine, and finally a few Mexican Golden Poppies along the trail on a south facing slope.
