| no partners | | Once I found out about Paradox Arch and its proximity to Canyon of the Waterfalls, I added it to my list of places to check out...managed to convince a friend to go with me during the week with hopes of a lot less traffic on the trails - unfortunately, we were working with a time constraint, so didn't manage to do the cut over to Massacre Falls to make a loop of it.
The main trail, as one might expect, is very well established. Once the path drops into Weekes Wash, it's boulder hopping mixed with some use trails. After heading up canyon a bit, the route eventually crosses the drainage, pops out and heads up steeply towards the hoodoos that I found myself fascinated with when I was at Canyon of the Waterfalls. Similarly, I was able to look further upcanyon to see the pourover that makes up that landmark. After stopping for a few minutes to snap photos, we turned around and headed back the way we came.
Other hikers: a handful of cars in the trailheads (Canyon of the Waterfalls and Jacobs CrossCut), saw one hiker coming down from Slot Rock as we were headed up, on our way out, there was one person headed up Weekes Wash mentioning that was on their way to completing a reverse flatiron. Passed one other person headed in not far from the parking lot. |

Happier when hiking....I may not move fast (and I'm often distracted by wildflowers), but I'll get there eventually |
