When I was shown photos of this unique arch, I hunted for clues, peered at topo maps and squinted at satellite images to deduce the location and approach. It was rewarding to discover things were more or less where I expected them based on the detective work!
It was a delightfully cool day for a walk with a brisk breeze which kept me uncharacteristically covered with long sleeves. Glad to have opted for a longer approach to better enjoy the day and the scenery. Was a little surprised to come across others, but was happy to have had our time to check out the arch from all angles before others arrived. We hunted for the marriage marker and register - the marker appears to have been relocated from where it was photographed in a previously published triplog, and we failed to turn up the register box. Alas.
True to that triplog, I discovered I managed to get zapped by a cactus upon my return home...likely got tagged by one of the many cholla. I guess better a few easily removable spines vs a whole passel of glochids! If you attempt this adventure, watch your step |

Happier when hiking....I may not move fast (and I'm often distracted by wildflowers), but I'll get there eventually |
