| no partners | | This was an urban hike that was short but had some decent elevation gain relative to the distance. The destination was Mount Jurupa (elevation of 2,217 feet and prominence of 1,157 feet), which is the high point of the town of Jurupa Hills.
I parked at the Martin Tudor Jurupa Hills Regional Park, which is in the town of Fontana in San Bernardino County. Along the way to the peak I crossed over to the town of Jurupa Hills, which is in Riverside County.
The trail starts out on an old road bed that is really rutted out.
There are 2 noteworthy things about the hike:
1) There is lots of graffiti painted on the numerous boulder that line the trail.
2) There is lots of dog poop on the trail. I thought that this was kinda odd, but then I remembered that I was in southern California.
I kind of enjoyed the hike, the graffiti and dog poop notwithstanding. |

Wildflowers Observation Moderate There were quite a few wildflowers along the way, mostly California buckwheat. |
