| no partners | | Although I began from the Red Mountain Parking Lot along Bush Highway and crossed several trails a number of times, I spent no time actually hiking ON any of the trails. I sought solitude and a higher chance of encountering wildlife. While I did get the former, the latter was pretty much a bust with the exception of a lone squawking Harris Hawk.
Back at the Red Mountain Parking Lot there were a couple guys measuring the distance from the steel fence to where toilets are to be installed.

(As I drove by this morning February 17, the toilet building is being installed, so I suppose it's only a matter of time before a Tonto Pass is required to park there.) |
