| no partners | | More semi demanding driving than hiking. A fairly hard to access old mining area with a spider web of roads of varying ability to use depending on vehicle. Small ATV's probably best for most of it. The Toy got a work out, it did well but I should have brought the Jeep. Kinda hot for this trip. Some mines, short of the main goal but I was just too hot and called it. Some flowers. Areas of nice color from the mine dumps.
Takeaways-- take water even if the hike is short. I hate wheel spacers, so the ones on the Toy are going to go when I get the time. I have had not good experience with brakes when I had them on the Jeep and sure enough had some funky brake issues this trip with the Yota. Skid plates are a good thing, and got a try out this trip. A place I would like to return to with more reasonable temps. |
