| no partners | | I was lucky to secure a spot on a ranger guided tour of Crack in the Rock. If you ever get the opportunity, dont pass it up. There are three mesa in close proximity that we hiked to.
Having a ranger guided tour has it's pros and cons. The pro, of course is access to the site. The major "con" is the parental supervision. You are on their schedule. There are no redos, there is no waiting around for better sun, and dont try to explore. As we walked around the mesa you could see some nice petroglyph panels up high on the cliffs but going to those panels was not in the plan. If you go be sure to take a good telephoto lens.
I would have had more pictures of those unvisited panels but my camera had a shutter problem. Thats Ok Im going back on the next tour...when it is offered again. |
