| no partners | | I didn't do the whole thing. I went from where Maxwell trail reaches WCC upstream about 2.5 miles and back. I swam and waded alot going upstream and was having a great time. I can't recall swimming w/ hiking poles before. The water was cool and invigorating!
On the way back I followed all the bypass trails. You can go 95% of the way on the trails, the difficulty is locating them.
On the way back I found a ton of campsites, and unfortunately a good deal of trash and graffiti. I also discovered some access trails from the rim east of the confluence w/Clover creek.
There was a rather obstinate raptor that kept dive bombing me as I waded and hopped through the boggy marsh he called home. I was getting angry but then I remembered that I was the one trespassing in his backyard.
It really is very marshy right now, expect to get wet and muddy! |
