October 2003 backpacking trip to Phantom Ranch. Hiked down the South Kaibab Trail and out the Bright Angle Trail. The plan was to camp in Bright Angel Campground the first night and then hike to Indian Gardens for the second night.
Hiked to Ribbon Falls on day 2. This is my second visit to Ribbon Falls. This time I crossed at the bridge instead of fording the stream. My tender feet thanked me. It is good to stretch the legs the next day after hiking in to Phantom Ranch.
Well that did not work out. It started raining about 10pm the first night and at 4am someone got up and hiked out. It seemed that it was not comfortable sleeping in the rain without a tent. So the next morning the rest of us were back on the trail.
We spent the night in Tim's dad's trailer. |
