Wanted to get a hike involving the Chuparosa Trail and to get a few more miles in I did a lasso starting from the Pemberton staging area. Went north on the Pemberton and then took the Chuparosa to the North Trail. I did a CCW loop on that and then returned the way I came. All the trails were in good condition. Easy to follow. I found it quaint that all the trails had bridges to help hikers/bikers navigate some of the washes. (I wonder on their decision making process on where to put the bridges. I crossed about 5 bridges and maybe 50 washes). The Chuparosa is short but enchanting. Nice single track, a bridge and healthy vegetation. The North trail is a nice info trail which I have enjoyed in previous visits. Today, I did not pause to relearn the info that was offered. Forgot my garmin, so my mileage is based off trail maps. Beautiful day today! Skies were incredibly clear!! Crystal views of the Supes and Four Peaks. Trails were busier than anticipated for a Wednesday: 2 hikers and 7 bikers. No wildlife. |
