The road in wasn't near as bad as I had thought it would be, just had to take a couple of those hills with some speed. We had the canyon to ourselves the entire day and it was great. The ruins are awesome! Saw some elk on the way out. Note: wear long pants as some of the bushes infringing on the trail tore our legs up real nice.

What a great hike this was! The views were great. The creek was beautiful. The raspberry bushes we found on the way in (left side of the old ranch road on the way in) and the blackberry bushes we found at the creek (a little way towards the deep pools on the left side of the trail) certainly didn't hurt and we ate a whole lot of them. The trail going to the pools is real hard to follow and we eventually gave up and headed up the hill to the switchback trail, but all in all an awesome day :D

Did it in that order, Browns, Amethyst, Four Peaks. The views on Brown's are so stunning that that I will skip Amethyst entirely next time out.

Took the entire family and started around the lake, but ended up getting bored with that and headed over the damn and followed the stream for a couple miles. The kids found lots of critters in and around the water, so a fun time was had by all

This hike was great until the boy stepped off of a rock shelf into nothing (it was a dense bunch of the bamboo looking stuff), and fell about 8 feet into the water. Didn't hurt himself, but scared him half to death and made him go alot more carefully afterwards. We went up the left side of the creek and back the right side, climbing up around the narrow parts as necessary. :)
