Been aching to go hiking out here ever since I moved about 3 miles away. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the hike. It started out nice and flat and once you got back around the bend it really opened up to some nice scenery. As you loop back you come to an opening looking out onto the east valley. It was a very beatiful hike and very nice weather. Now that summer is coming will have to get up early to enjoy this hike.

My second trip to West Fork! Don't get out much these days so I chose a hike that the family could go on and make sure it was a good one at the same time, so I went with the sure thing. The little one made it almost the whole way till about the last mile and she had to be put her ontop of my shoulders since this was her first hike. The weather was beatiful but the only thing was the trees were still a little dead from winter, oh well better count my blessings. We stopped about halfway and had lunch on one of the rocks that hangs over the cliff. The hike was as great as it was the first time and not as crowded.

Haven't been here since I was a wee little one running around. I remember how this place intrigued me as well as all the other ruin sites I visited when I was younger like Tuzigoot, Canyon de Chelly and Case Grande. On our trip up to Sedona we decided at the last minute to check it out and it is just how I remembered it. They have a nice little visitors center and still sell the same books that use to lie around my parents house about the castle and Arizona in general. Very nostalgic for me...

Decided to get the family out of the house and made a short trip to the superstitions. We only went about a mile in before having to turn back due to sunset. It was just to stretch our legs but it makes me want to come back in the future and fully explore when I have more time on my hands.

While traveling around Sedona decided to take an easy hike but scenic. Airport loop was found to be very low impact but had wonderful views. The start of the trail had a lot of people but if you actually hike around the airport it thinned out very fast. When we were done we relaxed at the top and took in the breeze and the views. Very nice hike indeed!!!

Two years later, finally adding trip :D !!! Was reading about all the flowers blooming and the best places to see them after all the rainfall decided to head here, close to home. Saw many flowers in bloom and the weather was just beatiful. Stopped at the wind cave and had lunch......

From all the photos, had to see Fossil Springs for myself. Started out a little late on the trail on a Saturday, would have preferred to go during the week due to the crowds but could not swing it.

The hike down was easy but hurt the toes due to breaking in new hiking shoes and stepping on lots of rocks. The first two miles went fairly quickly but the next two had to be taken slower being a little more steep. Crossed many people on the way out asking "how much further???".

At the bottom there many groups of people, I thought I was at Disneyland for a second. It was a neat sight seeing the springs flow straight out of the ground. Would have taken more pictures but there were so many people it was hard to find a secluded spot for an unabstructed view. Just past the main pool we found a nice spot with few people around and had lunch and took a nap. Started out and the hike up was a little streneous for the fact that daylight was fading fast and the pace had to be quickened, but it made for some nice photos of the sunset. Would like to come back sometime during the week and spend more time exploring at the bottom.

First hike logged on HAZ! Being a native Arizonan was emberrassed on what little of this great state I have seen. Figured the best hike to start on was this with all the rave reviews. Got started around noon and made way through the orchards. The surrounding cliffs were nothing short of amazing. Had a good time stopping and taking pictures on a beautiful day. On the way out we took our shoes off and soaked in the refreshing creek. The storm clouds started to roll in encouraging us to take a faster pace on the way out. Had such a good time can't wait to hike all over the state.
