| no partners | | This is an amazing area to go to. Full of history, beautiful trees, and totally remote landscape. A couple of notes on the hike and drive.
First, FR25A is 4x4 only and after it gets to the water crossing, I'd say its jacked up 4x4 only. There are numerous very rocky areas after you reach that point. Fortunately, its only about .8 miles from the turn off to the mine.
Second, about the hike. I think the 260 trail (west fork) turn off from the cornucopia trail is no longer marked. You get to a sign post that has distances going forward and back on the cornucopia trail, and there is a trail that seems to go off to the left at this point. I imagine you can still find your way along it, although I kept going past on the cornucopia trail.
I plan to go back out to this amazing area. |
