Beautiful hike. Lot of caterpillars, should be tons of butterflies very soon. Temp was cool on the morning but warmed up and was a bit hot on the hike down.

We drove up Friday evening and camped over night just down from 89A. We found a nice little spot with a campfire ring. Camp site was a little dirty from others but was tolerable. Not a lot of road noise, traffic was light. The dirt road is a little sketchy for cars but SUV or truck is fine. There are better camping spots a few hundred yards down the dirt road. There is also car parking up on the road near the Forest Service sign.

Over all the hike was great, but the trail is rocky and fairly steep at times. I wore my toe shoes and wont do that again....lol.

Took my Boy Scout troop on this hike and had a great time. Weather was a little chilly with our 8:00am start but was a perfect 75 on our way out. We stopped at Willow spring, did a little exploring and had lunch. The pond was about half full and a bit on the green side. Over all the kids had a great time.

I hiked this trail with a group on Meetup.com named "Arizona Desert Hikers". They were very easy going and a great group to hike with. The top of Mount Lemon was covered with clouds as we drove up the 20+ miles from Tucson. We parked vehicles at both ends of the trail so we could shuttle and hike one way. Temperature was in the mid 60s and near 100% humidity in the clouds. We came across many creeks with running water and several waterfalls. We also located the airplane wreckage. The second half of the hike up and out was a bit harder than I had anticipated but was worth it. We hiked in and out of the clouds and visibility varied from 50 yards to clear. Over all I would recommend this hike during the Monsoon season but make sure to bring your poncho. After our hike we drove about 5 miles up the mountain to Summer Haven and had lunch.
