Saw some big horned sheep, which was amazing, frogs and a good amount of pooled water.
The last part of the wash was severely over grown and very hard to navigate.

beautiful and brutal all at the same time.. still didn't make it to the falls, I think I would have had to add another 40mins to get there. Just not enought time in the day, we had to head back as to get out before dark.
One in our group checked the path on google earth, and estimated 15 miles total round trip.
ouch my feet hurt!

this trip makes for a great trail run as well as a hike.
being as we were trail running through the beautiful scenery the total trip only took 1 hour.
one of my favorites on mt lemmon

Took the tram to the trail head to cut some time off this hike.
The sun on the way in was brutal. Beaming down with intense brightness and warming the air to somewhere around 100 degrees.
The falls however were very rewarding and we had a nice lunch near the water.
The hike back was much better due to some lovely clouds covering the sky and blocking most of those horrible sun rays.
All together its a great hike and not too hard, but the season for it is ending since Arizona is heating up so quickly.

We will have to do this one again.
We found the peel off for the falls, it was marked with a cairn and I grabbed the Coords with my GPS, but it was rainy and very windy with dark skies as far as the eye could see. So we decided enough is enough and stopped for a small lunch on top of the saddle then headed home.
Next time we will make it all the way to the falls.

lots of frogs, toads, lizards to see this time through. 1 praying mantis and 1 stick bug as well.
No running water but there were half a dozen or more small pools.
and the parking fee is no more, which will save you a few bucks at the trail head.

Awesome canyon. I'm going to have to come back again.
We arrived at the trailhead around 10:30. Hiked in and navigated the canyon until around 1:30 and made it back to the trailhead by 2:30.
The water was flowing although not very fast but there were still spots that you had to swim and could not touch the bottom.
We saw two snakes (harmless) and alot of wasps. luckily they didn't bothers and we didn't bother them.
The parking area was full when we arrived and we saw one group hiking out as we hiked in and at least two other groups in the canyon.

This hike is awesome. The best part of it is as you are walking through the stream bed. It was completely dry when I went but after 130+ days with no rain that was no surprise.
The Peralta Trail head was packed but I assume they were all hiking the peralta trail since we only saw two other small group hiking through the bluff springs portion of this hike.

We were actually trying to find Bark's Canyon (Lower) but couldn't find "Bluff Spring trail" and guessed wrong on how to find it. It was a 50/50 chance so we'll find it next time.

This is a good hike to the saddle. Lots of people on the trail this trip looking to get out on a great sunny saturday.
to my surprise you can now pay your $4 parking fee by credit card!

Somehow I stumbled onto the post for this "hike" and the pyramid sounded interesting. Funny enough this place is with in a mile of my house and I had never noticed it before so I had to go.
I was planning on running a mile or so after work so I made this place on my route.
I got a late start and it was dark by the time I got to the pyramid which made the plaques a little hard to read but the view of Zoo Lights was awesome. I'd go back just for that. you could even hear some of the music they were playing at the zoo. very faint but it was there.

What an awesome sight at the end of this hike. Like a big kids playground we explored and explored all the great formations! Definately a must see!
I'm unsure how long the hike took exactly but we spent alot of time exploring and were there at least 3 hours.

Great hike!
I think the cost for parking was only $5 per car load. It was kind of crowded on the saturday we went but being one of the first days with great weather I can see why.

Did this one a while back. extremely fun and easy caving experience.
Nice and cool inside the cave all year round and it was great to get out of the Phoenix heat!
maybe i'll get to go again sometime.

A friend of mine found out about this trail and we all went for the first time back in Aug '03. I've been wanting to go back but didn't know the trail name but after some research finally found it.
I think when we went last it was after the fires there so the water was full of ash and looked like chocolate milk. Kinda cool but I'm sure the clear waters that are common for that area would be even better.
I'm definately looking forward to Hiking this one again!
